The dataset contains parcels of land designated as Registered Common Land under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000. It is a digitised copy of land registered as common land under the Commons Registration Act 1965. It does not replace the statutory registers of Common Land that are held and maintained by Local Authorities. As such it does not have any updates from Local Authorities since their maps were scanned and digitised back in 2000-2003 as part of the CRoW Act mapping process.
